President's Message

Witnessing of God's message of PEACE and LOVE is a critical contribution to the well being of society, and
the demand for peace-love is growing worldwide. Christian educators and church leaders prepared to help
others achieve good spiritual health outcomes are in constant demand. They play an ever-increasing role
as community changes and offer the well-educated individual opportunities for a rewarding vocational or
professional career. Christian educators and church leaders provide professional mobility, as well as a
wide choice of work environments and types of services.

The Kanana Fou Theological Seminary is a small liberal theological school that combines theological
education and human sciences with a strong foundation in the Scripture as God's agent of change—mind,
body, spirit. The seminary exemplifies the school's mission of "educating for lives of thoughtful inquiry,
service, leadership and care" in an environment that encourages lifelong learning, diversity and spirituality
as vital elements in the individual quest for wholeness. The seminary recognizes that the spiritual,
physical, mental and social health of people is of universal concern. Its educational programs employ
dynamic learning opportunities, including Field Education and Christian Education Outreach that delivers
pastoral teaching and counseling to the surrounding community.

Our students claim that study and community interaction at Kanana Fou are unique. Our relationship with
local parishes and communities provides real-world experience and interaction. You can experience
community ministry first-hand, dialogue with talented and experienced pastors and church leaders, or seek
internships at churches in the local communities or abroad.

Kanana Fou was founded on the principle that if we provide an environment of fineness and merit—
talented and gifted faculty, a great library and an inviting campus where the mind can be nurtured through a
network with natural beauty—students will come to perfect the skills and gifts they need to be leaders in our
churches, communities and institutions of higher education. In short, we seek to provide a place where the
manulauti (patterns) of excellence in thought, prayer and leadership is learned.

Here at Kanana Fou, we put students first by providing a rigorous curriculum taught by our young-talented
and diverse faculty within a nurturing and supportive environment. It extends my personal invitation to you
to join our community. Blessings!
